There is hope for Somalia if?

In this paper, we shall highlight and look at the four major points, which are supreme and are part of the president’s mandates as well as the citizens' expectations of the new president and cabinet.

Somalia's country has been in an uncertain political condition for one and a half years. When the previous administration refused to hand over power, eventually, the country faced a variety of issues, including economic and security issues, and the government system was nearly destroyed due to personal interests. Many events occurred during that issue, such as the Somali army force and their commands being left at the front lines and coming to the city, attempting to seize power. While people were worrying and remembering what happened in 1991, their nation's Although young people, women, and religious leaders crowded out and talked about what was going on, there was no response. The results were a long way from what was expected of the regime in terms of free elections and fairness. After a long struggle and many people's deaths from different places that held members of the Somali Parliament elections, Finlay, the House of People, and senators were elected late in May. On May 15, 2022, the two-house of Somalia's parliament elects Hassan Sh. Mohamud as Somalia's president. He was president before Farjamo, and this is his second term leading the nation.

1. Security Concern: The main problem that the country is facing is security, so working on it requires more attention because the terrorist groups do not have a unique sign that classifies other societies. They are living in the community, coming to learn places, and there is no one area that they are living in, which means that fighting will continue indefinitely unless the government devises a new strategy. As some of us know, there was no massive achievement by army forces against Al-Shabaab in the last three years, and there were no new areas army forces captured that were under Al-Shabaab control, except for a few areas in spite of Some Somali scholars believe that Somali army forces and national intelligence were infiltrated by the Al-Shabaab Group, so Hassan, the new president, must address this issue while also reforming both intelligence and the army force. In addition, building trust between citizens and Somali police will allow easy work collaboration between both.

2. Establishing a higher court: The last three presidents, including the current one, have struggled to create a high court. This case has become a habit when we look back at what happened to the nation. Our major problem is that our constitution doesn't clearly define the roles of the president and prime minister. That's why it exists. When it comes to this argument, the country went down the wrong path. and the progressive line of achievements is broken definitively. In fact, the constitution is still under draft and the completion of the constitution is due to the new president, Hassan Sheikh. The good news is that President Hassan has enough experience in view of the fact that he has worked for three prime ministers. Unfortunately, he refused them. From that experience, I hope he will be correct and he will be able to manage those angles this term.

3. Controversy between the Federal Government and state members: Indeed, the previous administration completely failed to collaborate with federal state members. However, the new president and his cabinet must sort out and end the conflict that has existed between the federal government and the federal states for the last four years, and lead the country forward while coming up with a new strategy and sitting down with the federal states to discuss where he wants to drive this nation in the next four years. As a result, he will leave a legacy for this nation. Moreover, Direct collaboration between the federal government and the federal states will provide for the country's integration, peace sustainability, and prospective.

4. One man, one vote: This point is crucial to the Somali people, and they are looking for a new government to run the country with one man, one vote, as well as citizens' exhausted parliamentary elections, which have done for the last three governments. Although it’s not easy to reach one man, one vote, while Somalia doesn’t have a strong system of government, counting and registering all citizens has not happened in the country yet, so the government should make sure all the land is secure and do all the necessary things before the election in 2027, so allow me to remind you that one man, one vote is part of Hassan’s mandate and he mentioned it during the interview after his election.
