Security experts and analysts are concerned. The Horn of Africa's regional insecurity matter is currently going on. Apart from that, the four countries in the Horn of Africa are facing their own set of challenges, including insecurity, a lack of economic resources, ethnic conflict within, clan clashes, and board disputes over resource sharing. However, there is a huge issue that has been affecting the Horn of Africa, which is insecurity issues. In fact, it won't end if regional cooperation security is maintained. The evidence was that 200+ Al-Shabaab troops were used to walking inside some parts of the Somalia region, and there were no feelings of any concern against the Somali Army Force as they attacked and entered inside part of the Somali “Galbeed” that under Ethiopia's administration. What was stated was that actions in the Horn of Africa may face Islamic groups attempting to establish bases and spread throughout the region.
On the other hand, there are several actors who have their own different agendas in the Horn of Africa. Some of them already have military bases, such as America, the UK, Japan, Italy, and France, all in Djibouti, while Turkey in Somalia and so many others are hiding. That’s why the Horn of Africa has unstable security and other achievements. Such beliefs say, although not strongly, that if Ethiopia is stable in terms of security, the entire region will be settled. I support this because Ethiopia has short and long border regions, namely Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Kenya, and the largest border in Somalia. Ethiopia also has the greatest military in the Horn of Africa. On the condition that it is not stable, it will have an impact on its neighbours, either directly or indirectly.
The Horn of Africa is facing various challenges which external countries don’t sort out since they are excited by challenges in Horn of Africa countries. The solution to the Horn of Africa lies in the hands of the leaders. However, In my view, the security concerns in the region can be addressed if the Horn of Africa follows and implements five points, which I am confident will work and succeed in terms of security.
Establish one in the Horn of Africa. Umbrella’s intelligence, which consists of all Horn of africa countries,
Border patrol forces share information and communicate with one another.
The Horn of Africa should have a long and short-term vision that includes building one Horn of Africa army force and appointing a leader for that army every year or more.
The Horn of Africa should come to the table and discuss its problems, eventually coming up with a single road map indicating where the Horn of Africa will be heading in the next ten years or more.
The Horn of Africa must agree to unite in fighting against terrorism, poverty, drought and so many challenges In Africa's Horn of Africa.
